Pomnik ustawiono w środku lasu już blisko 50 lat temu – wykonany został w kęsowskiej szkole przez Adama Gnacińkiego wraz z uczniami. Oryginalna tablica właśnie została odnowiona, pamięć po tragicznych wydarzeniach z Lasu Krajeńskiego nie ginie.
